PHILANTHROPY

A Letter From Our Director of Philanthropy

Greetings, everyone! I'm Lexi Franklin, privileged to serve as the Director of Philanthropy for Alpha Delta Pi at the University of Arizona. Within our community, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Arizona (RMHC) is an organization that provides no-cost housing to families of children undergoing medical procedures at the hospital. These families receive a clean room to stay in, home-cooked meals, and the love and support the staff and volunteers provide at a time likely to be one of the most difficult of their lives.

At Alpha Delta Pi, our commitment to RMHC knows no bounds. From preparing meals to volunteering at uplifting events for families, and hosting two impactful annual fundraisers including the Diamond Diner and Diamond Series, we consistently strive to make a difference. In the past academic year alone, our collective efforts have resulted in raising nearly $40,000 in support of RMHC Southern Arizona.

What deeply resonates with me about Alpha Delta Pi is our firm commitment to RMHC and the valuable volunteer work we do. We understand how fortunate we are to have such a close connection to a charity like RMHC, and it's fulfilling to support an organization that shows endless compassion. I feel privileged to guide our chapter's support and to be part of RMHC's remarkable mission. Together, we're truly making a difference in the lives of those in need.

Loyally,

Lexi Franklin

A Letter From Our RMHC Chair

The Delta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi is so honored and excited to be serving as the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Our sisters love that we have the opportunity to be so involved with the Ronald McDonald House and believe it is one of the things that makes ADPi so special.

We are so lucky to be able to host many philanthropy events to raise money for the RMHC, but we also get the opportunity to participate in an in-person volunteering event called Chef for a Day. One of my biggest responsibilities as the RMHC chair is to lead this event a couple times throughout the semester. Chef For A Day is such a fun event that I get to share with my sisters. We visit the RMHC house right here in Tucson for a night and cook a delicious meal for the families staying at the house. It is rewarding to see the impact our sisters can make and to be that person that helps them and puts a smile on their face.

As a member of the Greek community, there are a lot of different ways to to get involved in service work and Alpha Delta Pi is fortunate to have a relationship with the RMHC. We are proud to have a chapter full of selfless, compassionate, and loving sisters who help make ADPi and the Ronald McDonald House so special.

So who are we raising money for?

Alpha Delta Pi Foundation

Educate. Lead. Serve.

“The Alpha Delta Pi Foundation is tremendously grateful for the support of our sisters and Foundation friends who make it possible for us to provide emergency grants to members in crisis, scholarships and leadership training for collegiate and alumnae sisters, resources to fight hazing and sexual assault, funding for the preservation of monuments and memorials unique to our history, and so much more!”

Keeping Families Close

“Many families travel far from home and spend several weeks or months to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children – a long time to be away or to divide a family. And, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having mom and dad close by for love and support. A Ronald McDonald House provides a place for families to call home so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little to no cost.”

OUR EVENTS

ADPi Diamond Diner

ADPi Diamond Diner is a fun philanthropy event held during the fall semester. At this event, a ticket will get guests one box of a Raising Cane’s meal and a drink. This event takes place at the ADPi house and we draw people in with music and create a high energy enviornment. In our backyard, guest eat and socialize with our sisters and participate in games. All proceeds raised from this event go to the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House Charities. In the past Fall (2023) our event raised a total of $32,000 for the Ronald McDonald House!

Diamond Series Wiffle Ball Tournament

During the spring semester, we host our annual Diamond Series Wiffle Ball Tournament. This event consists of friendly competition, music, and lots of cheering! Participants form teams and compete until only one team is remaining and the winning team gets to take home fun prizes. All proceeds raised from this event go to the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

In addition to our three major events above, we also support our philanthropies through a bundt cake bake sale, percentage nights, the Walk for Kids, Chef For A Day volunteering at the Ronald McDonald house in Tucson, and more!
