Zoomin’ Through Recruitment
POV: You’re sitting at your dorm room desk, staring into a computer screen. You’re dressed to impress, but only from the waist up (you’re also wearing sweatpants). The bright white screen on your laptop says, “Please wait, the meeting host will let you in soon.”
It’s that time of year again and Panhellenic recruitment has commenced; the thrilling countdown till Bid Day starts NOW! If you’re a PNM, you’ve most likely recognized that things are looking quite a bit different this year. Perhaps you’ve wondered what Greek life will be like this semester, and whether or not the experience will be as fun and exciting. Nonetheless, if you’re a PNM, something encouraged you to sign up anyway. Whatever your reason may be, we’re really glad you’re here!
The benefits of joining a sisterhood extend far beyond the things you see on social media or hear from friends and family. Rather, it is the seemingly insignificant which make membership irreplaceable.
It is when you and your bestfriends are midnight snacking on a bowl of microwave popcorn, and you’re so deliriously overtired that everything is hysterical. It is when you’re feeling sad on Valentine’s Day, so your sisters have a bouquet of flowers sent to your doorstep. It is when you’re blasting your favorite song with all the windows down while driving to Dutch Bros. It is when you’ve had the longest, hardest day and you’ve been holding it all in until your sister asks what’s wrong, and she’s happy to listen.
These little moments are so indestructible, not even a global pandemic can shake them. Get ready AC ‘20 because the best is yet to come!
